Fired! Silver Clay Jewellery
Inspiration for my jewellery comes from so many sources, however it is probably 'mother nature' herself and my art history degree studies that influences and drives my passions the most.
I am a Silver Clay Artist and my chosen media is precious metal clay. My pieces feature delicate, intricate and detailed work. I also incorportate traditional silversmithing skills into my pieces which include stone setting and bezel work. I only use fine silver and Stirling silver findings to finish the jewellery. Occasionally I use porcelain and other interesting clays to create and design other objects.
The majority of my work is taken up with individual and bespoke commissions. Although I do make small 'runs' of ready made designs which have become a feature at some of the exhibitions and shows I attend. I am now experimenting with lino cuts taken from my original drawings from the hedgerow and my "Hares, Squirrels and Dragonflies" range has proved very popular.
Other projects have seen experiments with shapes created by flowers; resulting in earrings evoking the bell like forms of bluebells and lily of the valley.
